Stick On Clothing Labels For Parents and Kids
Lost property has always been a dilemma in schools. Lost property stores in every school in the country are bursting full of unclaimed and nameless garments. Many schools are not able to and will not store these items indefinitely. They are normally disposed of or given to charity, including the more valuable items. Some schools even have a lost property sale if the piles get too high. Lost property is not only wasteful but it creates avoidable inconvenience and expenditure for parents. To avert the problem, most schools insist that all childrens possessions must be labelled. If the solution is so easy, then why does the issue of lost property still subsist? Sorry to say, labelling childrens uniforms is not as simple as it would seem.
There are a few labelling methods available for parents. Iron on labels are quite popular but once they have been through the washing machine a few times there are no guarantees your label will remain affixed. These days, some iron on labels are very good but until you have invested in them and tried them out, theres no way of knowing. Laundry marker pens are also an easy, inexpensive solution. However, there are 2 problems with them, they grow fainter in time and you have to find the space on the item of clothing to write the name. Both methods, even though quick and easy for todays hard-working mother, can be unreliable. That is, unless you continually return to each item of clothing to make sure that there is still a legible, intact name tag. This cancels out any time you saved initially.
Woven or sew on labels on the other hand are fail-safe, a guaranteed solution. The draw back is that you will have to spend hours sewing them in each and every garment. Or spend extra cash on paying someone to do it for you. For parents with large families, the many mothers who work full time and of course, those who cannot sew, this alternative is simply too inconvenient. Back to school time can be hectic enough, making sure your kid is fully geared up to start the term can be a mine field. Looking for the perfect school coat or bag that not only adheres to uniform standards at the school, but is also trendy and acceptable enough for your son or daughter to wear often causes irritation and bewilderment. After a hard day at the shops in the back to school rush, no parent has the patience required to sit and sew on labels.
